The American Dream is a dream that a person has when they first come to america. They hope to see a better place a nice place were they could rase a better famlie and money. But the rality is, is that somtimes is dosnt happen. The amreican dream is both and illusion and reality. Its and illusion because thats how you want your reality to come true.
My dream is to graudate and go to college. That is my illusion but in reality now is that i worked har to reach that far.
Amrican dream realtes to the Great Gatsby because hid dream was to marry daisy. But he couldnt because he was going to was. But when he came back he didnt have any money or house. So his dream was to become rich for the girl he loves.
His dream was to get daisy back and pick up where they left off. He got rich for her but not in the right way. He wanted to marry her and live together. But he new that he couldnt yet until she got divorced. The illusion of him was that he thought daisy loved him even though she was with and other guy.
Gatsby did come back from an other country and poor. But his mentor made his dream come true that made him realy rich. But gatsby never got his dream. He didnt work for it, he thought things would of been easy. He was worried about his illusions that in reality his dreams never made him happy. Gatsby is realted to an illusion and reality.
